New “1984” picture

In his latest Instagram post, Andrew presented us with a never seen before still from 1984.

The pictures shows Andrew Gower as Winston Smith and Angus Wright as O’Brien in the play’s rather gruesome and tortureous finale.

Let’s hope Andrew’s dentist’s appointment today isn’t quite as painful and send him some healing vibes on Twitter and Instagram!

AndrewGower_IRI_01

Online Indie magazine “The Italian Rêve” published an interview with Andrew Gower today in which they talked about his motivations for being an actor as well as his recent work on Outlander, Black Mirror and Carnival Row.

We got some more information on Ezra Spurnrose, Andrew Gower‘s character in Carnival Row, and Andrew confirms he will be a series regular.

He also gave us an update on Humpty Dumpty, the documentary about Merseybeats singer Tommy Quickly that he is developing with fellow Liverpudlian actor Stephen Walters.

We filmed a lot of it but it has been delayed and we are hoping to have something to show people by the end of this year.

‘Carnival Row’ Wraps Shooting in Prague

carnival_row_chair.jpg

According to The Prague Reporter, Carnival Row has wrapped filming. In their article they also list a few interesting facts about the production:

An estimated 900 people worked on Carnival Row during its production in Prague, the majority of them local. Only about 60 cast and crew members were brought into the country for filming.

One of the most expensive projects to ever shoot in the Czech Republic […], Carnival Row spent an estimated 1.5 billion CZK (roughly $75 million) while in Prague.

The production was granted a tax rebate of more than 250 million CZK.

While filming primarily took place at Barrandov Studios in Prague, production also took place at locations in Liberec, the chateaux in Frýdlant and Krnsko, and Prachovské skály, the majestic natural rock formation […].

Carnival Row was originally sold as a spec script by Travis Beacham all the way back in 2005, and passed through the hands of directors like Guillermo del Toro […] and Neil Jordan at various stages of its development.

Directors Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin), Jon Amiel (Copycat), Andy Goddard (Set Fire to the Stars) and Anna Foerster (who shot Underworld: Blood Wars in Prague in 2015) each worked on the series in the Czech Republic.

Black Mirror “Crocodile” Easter Egg is Spot on

BMC343crop

Charlie Brooker‘s anthology series Black Mirror is well known for predicting human behaviour in an uncanny and scarily precise way.

The users of Internet platform Reddit are known for dissecting everything they watch.

The season 4 episode “Crocodile” was the moment these two came together in a moment of sheer meta-gloriousness, when Andrew‘s character Rob shows a newspaper clipping to ex-girlfriend Mia (Andrea Riseborough).

The newspaper article actually included the following sentence:

Of course the real question is why anyone would pause what they’re watching just to read a sentence in a printed out newspaper article’, says a voice in your head – before advising you to go and share this finding on Reddit.

Of course the Easter Egg was discovered by Reddit user AFellowOfLimitedJest.

Black Mirror, you did it again. Mind blown.
