Out of Darkness – short directed by Manjinder Virk

Andrew Gower is involved in a new independent short film by Manjinder Virk titled Out of Darkness. Manjinder played the role of Mullery’s love interest Sally Fortune in season 1 of Monroe so we are excited to see them working together again.

Tom Hiddleston, Monica Dolan, Jimmy Akingbola, Christine Bottomley, Riz Ahmed, Asheq Akhtar and Noma Dumezweni are also involved in the film.

There are very few details available about the film at present as it is still in post-production, but you can follow the Twitter account for updates, and we will of course update here when any more news is released.

Showreel 2012

Frankenstein’s Wedding: The Dance

At the end of the live performance of Frankenstein’s Wedding, the cast performed a choreographed dance which also saw Andrew singing the first few lines of Make You Feel My Love. The most spectacular part of the dance however, was the audience joining in with the dance. They had been taught the dance previously and seeing 12,000 people performing it in unison is something to behold.

As an aside, the look on Andrew’s face when he looks out over the crowd at the end is absolutely wonderful!

Frankenstein’s Wedding – Andrew sings ‘Wires’

As part of Frankenstein’s Wedding, Andrew sang Athlete’s Wires (and made every girl there wish she was up there in that plastic box with him!). Thanks to YouTube user symanleedsuk you can watch it again here:

He also sang Snow Patrol’s Make It Go On Forever which is an incredibly beautiful song, he really does it justice. Again thanks to symanleedsuk you can watch it here:

If you like Andrew’s vocals on the Frankenstein’s Wedding songs, you can also hear him in his own band Emerson – pop over to the Emerson page on this site to hear some of their tracks.

A Monster of a Show

frankensteinswedding

The Daily Mail reported about Frankenstein’s Wedding prior to the show’s happening on Saturday, 19 March 2011.

The article mentions Andrew:

Newcomer Andrew Gower, who plays Dr Frankenstein, is darting around the abbey’s passageway, eager to establish the shortest route from his character’s laboratory to the church. “I have a scene in the laboratory followed immediately by one in the church, and the distance between the two is pretty much the entire length of the abbey,” he says.
