The BBC have finally released a first teaser trailer for the upcoming final season of Poldark, which will air in the UK starting Sunday, 14 July 2019.
It not only gives fans an idea what the new season is about, it also offered a first glance at James Hadfield, the character Andrew Gower is portraying. In case you missed him, here he is!
A little sooner than expected the BBC have announced the released date for the first episode of hit TV show Poldark’s final season. As we’ve speculated before it is:

The Poldarks look forward to life together in peace, but a plea from Ross’s old Army Colonel, Ned Despard (Vincent Regan), compels him to the capital to help.
As Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) manages their affairs in Cornwall she encounters disenchantment and a new opponent, Tess (Sofia Oxenham). George (Jack Farthing) meanwhile struggles to engage with the world after Elizabeth’s death and it falls to Cary (Pip Torrens) to expand the family empire – as Valentine (Woody Norman) struggles to find his place within it.
Arriving in London, Ross (Aidan Turner) finds a city gripped with paranoia, and is determined to save Ned from the conspiracy that imprisoned him.
George enters into an alliance with the merchant behind Ned’s imprisonment, Ralph Hanson (Peter Sullivan), whose business is in upholding the slave trade. Meanwhile, Geoffrey Charles (Freddie Wise) decides to follow in Ross’s footsteps and enter the military – but also finds himself drawn to Cecily Hanson (Lily Dodsworth-Evans), Ralph’s daughter.
As George’s grief leads the Warleggans into uncharted and worrying territory, Ross discovers a grave plot and is urged to heroism, while Demelza is forced into action herself back at home.

The BBC have now confirmed that Poldark S5 has eight (instead of the previously reported six) episodes.
Amazon Prime is promoting its annual Amazon Prime Day and its Amazon Music subscription service with a special concert featuring Taylor Swift on Wednesday 10 July 2019. Prime Members can watch the concert, which will take place in an unknown location in New York City, live at 9:00pm ET (2:00am BST / 3:00am CET). It will also be available to Prime members to stream on-demand after the live show for a limited time with select songs from each performance.
The two-hour special will also feature live performances by Dua Lipa, SZA, and Becky G. The “Prime Day Concert” will be hosted by comedian-actress Jane Lynch.
Why is this important to us?
During the 2019 Prime Day Concert, Amazon will promote “Carnival Row,” the upcoming Amazon original fantasy drama series starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, slated to premiere Aug. 30.

Let’s hope Amazon Prime will not only make parts of the concert available to watch later on but also the (presumably) new material they’re releasing for Carnival Row, and hopefully it will give us a first look at Andrew Gower as Ezra Spurnrose!

In addition to the concert in New York City, there will also be concerts in London (UK) featuring Rita Ora on 10 July 7:45pm at a “secret location in East London” and at “Muffathalle” in Munich (Germany) with performances by Die Fantastischen Vier and Clueso on Tuesday 9 July 2019 at 6:00pm (CET).
The majority of tickets to the event are being reserved exclusively for Prime members who are invited to enter the competition from today for a chance to win a pair at www.amazon.co.uk/primedayparty. There will also be a limited number of tickets at the door on the day – available to everyone on a first come, first served basis.
The same promotional content for Amazon Prime’s upcoming and returning series, including Carnival Row, is expected during the live streaming of both concerts.
The German website film.tv has some new information on Carnival Row, Andrew’s upcoming fantasy series.
According to film.tv, Amazon Prime will release a German dubbed version on their streaming platform on Friday, 22 November 2019 after the world wide release of the English original on Friday, 30 August 2019.
Their news article also gives some additional clues about Ezra Spurnrose, Andrew’s character:

With a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Carnival Row, Amazon Prime Video have announced that they will present the fantasy-noir series at San Diego Comic Con in July this year.
Doors will open at 7:30pm on Saturday, 20 July 2019 at 450 2nd Ave (San Diego, CA) for a pre-party, followed by a 9:00pm screening.
According to show creator Travis Beacham’s Twitter, he will be accompanied by Carnival Row‘s main cast Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne as well as Tamzin Merchant, David Gyasi and writer Marc Guggenheim.
Andrew Gower plays recurring character Ezra Spurnrose on Carnival Row. We’re still waiting to see some official material of him in character while actor Brian Caspe has already been confirmed for the show’s second season.

We’re still about a month away from the premiere of Poldark’s final series but you can already pre-order your copy. You can either buy it individually or own the complete series 1 -5 in a box set on Blu-ray or DVD.
Both box sets are confirmed to be released on 2 September 2019. The final artwork for the box sets is yet to be confirmed.
Season 5 of Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker‘s dystopian anthology series, was released on Netflix on 5 June 2019, and provided its eagle-eyed viewers with a whole set of Easter eggs yet again. One of them is a direct nod to Andrew Gower‘s season 4 episode “Crocodile”.
The following text contains SPOILERS for “Crocodile”, so we’d advise you not to continue reading if you haven’t seen the episode yet!
If you recall, “Crocodile” centers around architect Mia Nolan (Andrea Riseborough) who fears that her involvement in an old hit-and-run accident is exposed through a device that is used to extract the memory of witnesses in insurance claims. To cover up her initial crime, she commits three more murders. The episode ends with Mia at her son’s school recital while the police pick up her last victim’s pet, a guinea pig, the only witness to her last crime.
Mia’s fate seems clear but Black Mirror‘s season 5 episode “Ashley Too” now confirms it with this news crawl and it is good to know that one of Black Mirror‘s “most horrendous characters” got what she deserved!

After the Carnival Row Writers Room account on Instagram has been teasing new material for the upcoming Amazon Prime series, we have been finally given a first teaser trailer and a release date.
We expect this to be a world wide release and the series is included in a Prime membership.

The BBC announced a second screening plus Q&A at the Regal Theatre in Redruth (Cornwall) on Thursday, 20 June 2019.
How to get tickets
- More than 300 tickets will be available to the public through the BBC’s Shows and Tours website
- Tickets are likely to be oversubscribed so will be allocated through a random draw. You can apply for a maximum of two tickets
- You have until 5.30pm on Friday 7 June to register

You will also have the chance to meet the cast of Poldark at the red carpet before the event.
Confirmed guests for the event are: Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza Poldark), Jack Farthing (George Warleggan), and Ellise Chappell (Morwenna Carne), as well as Debbie Horsfield (Writer and Executive Producer) and Karen Thurssell (Mammouth Screen Executive Producer).
