Being Human 4×06 Puppy Love

The video, Cutler (Andrew Gower) uploaded on YouTube of the werewolves Tom (Michael Socha) and George (Russel Tovey) transforming at the full moon, is started to get attention. While most people believe it to be fake, it brings the young female werewolf Allison (Ellie Kendrick) into town where she encounters Hal (Damien Molony) and Tom.

Together the two young werewolves try to find out who is behind the leaked video footage. They come across Golda (Amanda Abbington), a new vampire in town, who has made it clear to Cutler that she is in charge now. When Tom and Allison reach a dead end with their investigation, they visit Cutler in his office who sees his opportunity to get rid of two problems at once.

Before the big showdown, Tom convinces Hal to go on a double date with him, Allison and a Scottish girl named Alex (Kate Bracken), a customer at the cafe. This is Hal’s first date in over half a century and Hal struggles to keep his bloodlust under control when Alex invites him to kiss her.

Being Human 4×05 Hold the Front Page

Cutler (Andrew Gower) continues his plan to expose werewolves as the big threat to human kind and in his determintaion he does not even shy away from manual labour. He personally drags bodies in the woods surrounding Barry Island and prepares them with a garden claw to make them look like they were attacked by a large animal – or a wolf.

“Teenaged” vampire Adam (Craig Roberts) returns to Honolulu Heights as he and his new lover, middle-aged school-mistress Yvonne Bradshaw (Selina Griffiths), are being chased by the press. Unfortunately one of the journalists, Pete Travis (Sacha Dhawan), is able to snag a picture of Adam – but it turns out to be empty.

With further evidence in hand, Pete pays a visit to a  solicitor – Cutler – and reveals to him that he has proof that vampires exist and that someone – “husbands, fathers, wives, sons, daughters, judges, police… solicitors” – is covering things up. Cutler sees his chance to enlist Pete’s help with his own plans and follows him to his hotel room.

Meanwhile Yvonne Bradshaw proves to be a whole new challenge to the male occupants at Honolulu Heights as her own supernatural powers of a special kind are causing havoc with their emotions.

Being Human 4×04 A Spectre Calls

The new supernatural trio at Honolulu Heights – ghost Annie (Lenora Crichlow), werewolf Tom (Michael Socha) and vampire Hal (Damien Molony) – are still trying to settle into a new routine when they are visited by a seemingly charistmatic ghost from the 70s called Kirby (James Lance). Everyone seems to be quite taken by the new addition but it soon becomes clear that Kirby has his own agenda.

Hal follows up on a newspaper article about the Box Tunnel Massacre and comes across coroner Dr Wilson (Lucy Robinson), whose report confirms that the victims were killed by Jason Healey – a human scapegoat for the real killer, vampire John Mitchell (Aidan Turner). When Hal pays a visit to Dr Wilson, she immediately recognizes him as a vampire and is clearly terrified of what he might do to her.

Back at the B&B, the situation between Hal, Annie and Tom escalates due to Kirby’s cunning manipulations. Eventually, Tom runs off and gets into trouble for letting off some steam. At the police station he receives help from an unlikely source and we also meet the vampire blackmailing coroner Wilson into altering her report…

After Griffin’s (Alex Jennings) “proper death” at the end of episode 1, the vampires are yet again without a leader, and a new supernatural trio – ghost Pearl (Tamla Kari), werewolf Leo (Louis Mahoney) and vampire Hal (Damien Molony) – show up at Honolulu Heights, which causes friction with the current occupants, ghost Annie (Lenora Crichlow) and young werewolf Tom (Michael Socha).

Cutler (Andrew Gower) continues to work on his plan to reveal the existance of vampires and werewolves to humanity. He has brought a focus group, which appears to consist largely of homeless people, to Stoker’s warehouse and shows them the video of werewolves George and Tom changing at the full moon.

Before he can collect their surveys, however, he is distracted by fellow vampire Fergus (Anthony Flanagan) and his “war council” who have a slightly different approach to how things should be handled (and by who) in the future.

Being Human 4×01 Eve of the War

After the events of the season 3 finale, local vampires have already regrouped around their new leader Griffin (Alex Jennings). They meet up at the warehouse of Stoker Import and Export in Barry Island where they are preparing for the arrival of the “Old Ones”, a group of of extremely powerful elite vampires, who are travelling over the course of a few months across the Atlantic Ocean to Barry Island by freighter to discuss their plans for a global vampire takeover there.

Meanwhile the remaining occupants of “Honolulu Heights” – ghost Annie (Lenora Crichlow), werewolf George (Russell Tovey) and his newborn baby – are still recovering from the losses of their lovers, vampire Mitchell (Aidan Turner) and werewolf Nina (Sinead Keenan). Whereas George locks himself up with his young daughter not letting anyone near her, Annie seeks support from young werewolf Tom (Michael Socha) who is desperate to make new friends after his father figure McNair (Robson Green) was killed.

Among the newcomers in town is Cutler (Andrew Gower), a young, cocky vampire with ambitious plans to take over the world. While he wants to reveal the existance of vampires as the ones that save humanity from the “bigger threat, the werewolves”, Griffin is looking for an adequate gift to present the Old Ones with. “Vampire recorder” Regus (Mark Williams) seems to have the solution: according to a prophecy, the “War Child” born to two werewolves is the key to the destruction of all vampires – the perfect sacrifice.

Exciting times for the young surgeons at St Matthew’s: their training is over and it is time for their assessment. Monroe 1×05

The stakes are set high this week as the patient of the week is not a random stranger but one of St Matthew’s own. Dr Monroe’s (James Nesbitt) main assistant Sally Fortune (Manjinder Virk) collapses during surgery and it turns out she doesn’t only have a life-threatening brain aneurysm but also needs heart surgery and a valve replacement resulting from an infection.

While Monroe and Dr Bremner (Sarah Parish) clash over the best way of treatment, Mullery (Andrew Gower) is plagued by guilt as he is blaming himself for Fortune’s aneurysm: he and Sally recently started dating and the two had sex the night before. Monroe takes Mullery under his wings while they’re awaiting the results of Sally’s second surgery.

Tensions are running high amongst the staff at St Matthew’s and affecting also their private lives and relationships outside the hospital. Bremner reconsiders her relationship with Dr Shepherd (Tom Riley) and Monroe takes another step in accepting his separation from wife Anna (Susan Lynch), much to the dismay of their son Nick (Perry Millward).

Monroe 1×04

After spending the night with Tatiana (Carolin Stoltz), an Eastern European biochemist, who works at the hostital as the tea trolley lady, Dr Monroe meets his new patient, family man Brendon (Tony Mooney), who believes that God speaks to him through epileptic seizures. Supported by his teenage daughter Phoebe (Phoebe Dynevor), he is unsure if he wants the tumour, which is causing his fits, to be surgically removed.

Dr Bremner faces two very different patients this week: James (Tommy Jessop) is an orphan with Down syndrome and Alex (Harry Ferrier) is a cocky ladies’ man. However the two unlikely candidates bond over their mutual love for computer games, after James states that Mullery (Andrew Gower) is “useless” at them.

Nobody is more surprised than Mullery when Dr Bremner, who is in high spirits over her thriving relationship with anaesthesist Laurence Shepherd (Tom Riley), praises his surgical skills while treating Alex. Due to Monroe’s interference, things between the two new lovers soon turn sour though.

Young ex-soldier David Foster (Matthew Needham) is admitted to St Matthew’s Hospital with a blood clot in his brain after a fall under the influence. Against his initial judgement and to everyone’s surprise, Monroe (James Nesbitt) decides not to operate on the young man and instead waits and sees if the clot dissolves naturally.

Dr Bremner’s patient this week is an elderly lady, Judith Wardin (Bridget Turner), whose daughter is very attached to her and wants her to be around for her grand-daughter’s upcoming wedding. Despite some misgivings about the uncertain outcome of the surgery, Dr Bremner (Sarah Parish) and her team operate on Judith.

Mullery (Andrew Gower) tries to impress Dr Bremner and outshine fellow trainee surgeon Sarah Whitney (Christina Chong). His clumsy attempts, however, are easily seen through by Dr Bremner, who voices her disappointment in him. Dr Monroe enjoys taunting Daniel Springer (Luke Allen-Gale), who has temporarily “misplaced” one of his patients.

Monroe 1×02

The “patients of the week” at St Matthew’s hospital are teenagers James and Danny. James tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head, after he accidentally fired the gun at his younger brother Danny and hit him in the chest. Dr Bremner’s team operate on young Danny to fix his heart while Monroe and his assistant Sally Fortune (Manjinder Virk) perform brain surgery on James.

Things are being complicated by the fact that James and Danny’s parents can’t stand to be in the same room after being recently seperated which is a constant reminder for Dr Monroe on the effects a split-up can have on children as he is struggling to admit the true reason for the failure of his own marriage to his son Nick (Perry Millward).

During Danny’s operation it is trainee surgeon Sarah Whitney (Christina Chong), who shows initiative, leaving Mullery (Andrew Gower) at a disadvantage. Mullery’s moment to earn Bremner’s respect comes soon after, however, when he senses her discomfort while dealing with Danny’s desperate and emotional mother, and rescues her.
